Job Posting: Part-Time Church Media and Communications Coordinator/Specialist

Position Summary: The Media/Communication Specialist reports to the Pastor and serves the mission of Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church by employing multiple channels to promote the church and share its programs in the wider community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years media production and communications experience
  • Available every Sunday plus additional hours per week to total up to 10 hours per week
  • Operating a video switcher and technical management of livestream (or ability and willingness to learn)
  • Knowledge of sound design for live performance and broadcast environments (or ability and willingness to learn)
  • Operating video cameras to capture livestream output
  • Proficiency in video editing and sound mixing (or ability and willingness to learn)
  • Proficiency in all social media platforms, to include Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
    • Knowledge of the following: account administration; posting; responding; boosting; tagging; reporting; attachments;(or the ability and willingness to learn)
  • Knowledge of appropriate encoding specifications to optimize videos for digital platforms (or ability and willingness to learn)
  • A self-starter, with the ability to take initiative, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Graphic design skills
  • Possess excellent presentation, communication, verbal, writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility and adaptability to a demanding deadline-sensitive/time-sensitive environment

Responsibilities

  • Main responsibility is to produce a clear, audible and stable live stream of each Sunday Worship service, as well as special services throughout the year.
    • Each service is to upload to a video storage site and then upload to social media outlets and the OGPC Website
  • Actively administers all OGPC Church social media accounts, designing and implementing a yearly social media digital strategy and monthly content calendars in order to achieve increased reach and engagement to further the mission of OGPC
  • Troubleshoot video and sound issues in all areas of building to include the sanctuary pertaining to livestream, sanctuary sound system, digital signage, and computer hardware and software
  • Responsible for producing light graphic design content, utilizing a brand/style guide, to manage all social media posts and create event adverts
  • Work collaboratively with our marketing and ministry departments in order to increase online presence and improve reach
  • Partner with an existing social media team of volunteers from the Church who can help promote, boost and increase the awareness of ministry offerings and church events
  • Work collaboratively with Staff and OGPC Media Group to ensure content is informative and appealing
  • Partner with OGPC Media Group liaison to create a content calendar that will ensure the proper amount of posting is being done across all platforms

Nice to have

  • Define the most important social media KPIs, manage and oversee social media content and measure the success of every social media campaign
    • This includes providing a monthly report that tracks metrics, demographic information, and all relevant measurements across all social media platforms
  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
  • Participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities to maintain cutting-edge skills within the industry
  • Utilize graphic design skills to create a master style guide for all elements in order to properly brand social media platforms
