Sunday School

The Sunday School program is for children pre-K through grade 7. Children begin the traditional worship service with their families, come forward for Time With the Young Church (the children's lesson), and are then escorted to their classrooms. Youth in grade 8 do not attend Sunday School, rather they attend confirmation classes immediately following the worship service.

Pre-K Sunday School
All children who attend nursery or preschool are invited to attend the Pre-K Sunday School class.? Each week we read a story from a children's Bible and extract a single lesson and go from there. While discussing the Old Testament stories, the lesson is often as simple as helping others, telling the truth, loving our families, making friends or being kind to one another. In the fall we move to the New Testament, when we will talk about Jesus and all the wonderful lessons he has for us. We learn how to pray, making our own simple, yet meaningful prayers and sharing them with each other and God. As we learn, we also have a great time singing songs, playing instruments, drawing pictures, playing games and making crafts.

Workshop Rotation Sunday School
Children in Grades K through 7 attend classes that are based on the church calendar. We use a workshop model, which means teaching the lesson in many ways. Crafts, plays, cooking, computers, and labs are just some of the ways we learn! Our summer session begins on June 17. See you there!

Vacation Bible Camp
Vacation Bible Camp will run from August 13 to August 17 this year. Activities will be based on a water park theme and the name of the program is "Take the Plunge". Registration forms are available in the church office. The cost is $10 per child and children aged 4 through 5th grade are welcome.

Confirmation Classes
Youth in Grade 8 attend a series of classes designed to help them explore their individual spirituality. This is also a time to learn about becoming active participants in our church. Classes run from September to May, and end with a special worship service on Pentecost Sunday, when the youth share their "Statements of Faith" with the congregation and are accepted as full members of the church.
